One Purpose, One Passion, One Mission, Rescue the Children


The following facts may seem overwhelming and sometimes we may think, "What difference can I possibly make?" What we need to keep in mind is a statement made by Mother Teresa, "If you can’t feed a hundred, just feed one."

India Facts

India is the second largest populous country in the world, with more than one billion people. More than half of India’s children are malnourished. Only 15 – 20% of the Indian children grow to their full potential. Almost 2 million children die every year before reaching their first birthday.

It is estimated that over 62 million are employed in child labor.

Africa has the greatest proportion of children who are orphans. In 2001, 34 million and by 2010 the numbers will reach 4 2 million.

Bangkok, Thailand, July 13, 2004 report – over 15 million children have lost one or both parents to aids.

Asia has the largest number of orphans, with 60% of the world’s population. Their total number of orphans reached 87.6 million in 2003. The Executive Director of UNICEF told a press briefing recently, "this is a tidal wave." More than 14 million children die every year from hunger-related diseases. Hunger-related illnesses kill 24 children every minute of everyday.

Note: It is estimated that the basic health and nutrition needs of the world’s porest children could be met for an additional $13 billion per year.
